    Melt the butter and chocolate over low heat in a pan

    Separate the egg whites from the yolks, then beat the whites with a whisk to make stiff peaks

    Preheat your oven to thermostat 6 (180°C), then take the pan and add sugar, egg yolks, flour, and baking powder while stirring

    Add the stiff egg whites, then mix until you get a homogeneous mixture

    Place your baking sheet in the mold and pour the mixture, bake for 45 minutes

    Once the cake is done (check with a knife), wait for it to cool before unmolding and cutting it widthwise into 3 circles to separate

    Pour an equivalent of one wine glass of kirsch over these three parts, let them soak up, then spread jam on the first circle

    Place the second circle on top of the first one, and spread 100 to 150 gr whipped cream (mixed with jam if desired) on it

    Place the third circle on top of the others, add a layer of whipped cream, sprinkle with chocolate shavings and candied cherries

    Chill in the fridge for at least 5 hours before serving
