Preheat the oven to 200°C.

Peel the potatoes and cook them in boiling salted water for at least 35 minutes.

Check if they are done: stick a knife into a potato;

It should meet no resistance.

When cooked, mash the potatoes with milk and some cooking juice.

Add butter and season with salt, pepper, and nutmeg.

Peel and chop the onions and garlic.

Peel and cut the carrot into cubes.

Sauté the onions in a greased pan.

Add the minced meat, paprika, carrot, and garlic.

Cook for about ten minutes.

Spread the meat-and-vegetable mixture at the bottom of a baking dish.

Add the mash and smooth out the top of the hash.

Before putting it in the oven, you can draw patterns into the mash with a fork.
