    Place a slice of raw ham, followed by a thin slice of mozzarella, some chopped basil leaves, salt, and pepper on each eggplant slice.

    Roll up the entire thing and close with a small wooden skewer.

    Serve hot with some cherry tomatoes and a bit of tapenade.
