    Butter 4 ramekins.

    Cut the bacon slices into strips (one slice per ramekin) and place them at the bottom of the ramekins.

    Crack an egg into each ramekin, add one or two tablespoons of heavy cream on top of the eggs, then cover with grated gruyère.

    Place a pat of butter in each ramekin and bake for 10 to 15 minutes. Serve hot.
