Bring the milk to a boil, adding the vanilla pod

In a bowl, add 4 egg yolks, the packet of sugar, one teaspoon of cornstarch, and beat the mixture until it whitens

Add the boiling milk and continue beating, remove the vanilla pod and place the bowl in the microwave for 1 min 30 sec at maximum power

Check if the custard consistency is right and keep beating the mixture, microwaving again as needed, then let cool in the fridge

Place the egg whites in a mixing bowl, add one teaspoon of salt, then beat until the mixture whitens

Boil a pot of water, then reduce to low heat to pour 5 tablespoons of egg white and cook for 5 to 6 seconds, flip and let cook an additional 5 to 6 seconds before draining

Pour the cooled custard into a dish or plate and arrange the meringue whites, then chill in the fridge for one hour.
