How to prepare Kugelhopf?

    In a saucepan, heat the milk to an ambient temperature then pour half of it into a mixing bowl and add the yeast along with some flour, stirring constantly until you obtain a consistent and homogeneous paste.

    Let the paste rise, and during this time, pour into another mixing bowl (or mixer) the rest of the flour, one teaspoon of salt, the eggs, and the warm milk then mix or blend with an electric mixer for 10 minutes while regularly adding soft butter.

    Add the first batch of starter paste and continue to beat for 5 more minutes and let it all rise for 1 hour to double in volume.

    Once the dough has risen, place the raisins in a bowl of hot water for 2 minutes then insert them.

    Place the baking sheet in the kugelhopf mold and grease it before adding almond flakes to the bottom followed by the dough.

    Bake the kugelhopf at oven setting 7 (180Β°C) for 45 minutes then wait for the cake to cool before unmolding.
