Boil the 2 liters of water with a little salt, peel and cut the potatoes into pieces, and add them to the water. Remove the potatoes when they are cooked, then mash them into a puree and put them back in the pot's water. Clean the cabbage and slice the leaves thinly, rinsing them under cold water. Add the cabbage to the pot, let it boil for 10 minutes, adding the butter halfway through cooking. Serve your hot caldo verde soup.
